On The Radar: Gunboat God, Mouse: PI For Hire, And Regions Of Ruin: Runegate

Welcome to a week in indie games that will keep you playing something amazing for months. The releases have been absolutely stunning and absolutely numerous. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, and y’all I’m there with you, here are a few titles hitting this week that you should keep on your radar.

Gunboat God

Because sometimes you just need mayhem. This game is jammed with two thing: Shooting and Style. It’s out right now and ready for you to ascend to godhood.

Gunboat Goddamn! Get ready to shoot quickly, dodge even faster, and get to blasting in a chaotic 2D side-scrolling shoot ‘em up featuring guns, a whole boatload of freakin’ enemies, and rad tricks. It’s up to you to get the hull out of this unknown place to get back to the Citadel in the sky. Here’s to hoping you’ve got a plan to go with that Gunboat!

Mouse: P.I. For Hire

It’s undeniable that the art for this noir-style adventure is to die for. And that’s a good thing because you will die several times while on the tail of the biggest mystery of your career. You can shoot or punch your way through waves of thugs starting tomorrow.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is an action-packed first-person shooter that draws inspiration from the classic cartoons of the 1930s. Its black and white rubber hose visuals are drawn by hand, frame by frame, delivering a striking vintage aesthetic. Unravel layers of corruption with a thrilling noir-fueled detective story, lively environments to explore, an original big band jazz soundtrack, and a fully-loaded arsenal of cartoon weapons and devastating power-ups.

Regions of Ruin: Runegate

Among all the games I highly recommend for the week, this is going to be at the top of today’s On The Radar. You can watch me fall for its story and homeland-rebuilding features here back when I played the demo for Steam Next Fest. Having just released yesterday, there’s no reason to hold back in getting this one.

All that remains of the once-glorious dwarven civilization is dust, scattered exiles, and monster-infested landscapes. Embark on an explorative RPG hack-and-slash adventure as a lone dwarf attempting to re-establish a haven for your dwarven kin – and delve into the mysteries of their forebears.
