The Indie Informer’s first review of the year is live. While I recommend everyone go play Mio: Memories In Orbit as soon as possible, there’s never a week that passes without several indies to keep an eye on. Today’s On The Radar is homing in on a dark tabletop adventure, a colorful run through a comic book, and a rural timeloop escapade.

The Fortress
The Fortress is a medieval sickos dream, and I’m here for it. The visuals are disquieting, and the narrative setup, though brief, has me worried for my soul. The Lich King rules here. Gameplay runs on dice, and a sequence of dice-based combat rooms followed by fire-lit reprieves. Good luck making your way out.

Hank: Drowning On Dry Land
The art history nerd in me reveled in Hank’s opening scene, set squarely in Edward Hopper’s famous painting Nighthawks. The work is meant to evoke isolation and loneliness in the modern age, a fitting mantle for our Batman-at-the-bottom-of-a-glass hero. The brilliant pop of the game’s visuals are certainly the game’s strongest element.

Kejora
The titular heroine is just living her life in a beautifully hand-drawn village when everything changes. You and your friends find yourself inexplicably in a time loop. Where has the curse come from, and how can a bunch of normal kids combat the evil forces that suddenly abound? You’ll have to figure that out before it’s too late.
