Happy Monday, everyone. We are starting out the week with an appreciated check-in from ConcernedApe, AKA Eric Barone, the creator behind Stardew Valley, about his anticipated upcoming title, Haunted Chocolatier. And the news is good, if unsurprising. The developer is happy with the progress he is making and commits to making a high-quality project.
While the note he left on his game’s website is slightly longer, there’s not much more to glean from it. As the last message we got from the creator was in July, it’s great to get assurance that the dev is actively chipping away at Haunted Chocolatier, the RPG-meets-sim that drops players in a haunted castle and asks them to gather ingredients for, make, and sell chocolate in their very own shop.
The noted indie developer did, however, take the time to acknowledge his fans’ eagerness for game news as well as appreciate their patience with the time he is taking to create something he will be proud to release. He states:
“I feel a little embarrassed writing any of this because you guys probably just want the game at this point, not to hear me yapping about it. I get that. It can be hard to “keep the faith” when you are waiting a long time. I really cherish those who do keep the faith, though, and i wish you, your family and your pets, peace and prosperity through all seasons.”
It is good to hear that, even for so anticipated a release, the developer feels supported by excited players. Of course, we will be keeping a close watch for any development news on this one.
