On The Radar: 5 Games To Catch Before Next Week’s Indie Explosion

As an indie fan, the brilliant lineup set to release next week — including Winter Burrow, Lumines Arise, Goodnight Universe, Possessor(s), and so many more — is a shining light on the horizon. As someone dedicated to covering great indie games, it threatens to blind me. So, before the radiance eclipses all else, make sure not to miss these recently (or very soon-to-be) released games.

Dreams of Another

A third-person exploration-action game built around the philosophical theme, “No Creation Without Destruction.” Rather than destroying objects by shooting, your shots materialize and create the world.

Butter Side Down

Butter Side Down is a bizarro choose-your-own-choice game. Starring Basil Bonser, Adam Spargo, Grey Michael, Beatrice, Jeep Johnson, and Rotten Ruggerio. Answer questions, take calls, play card games, and solve one hell of a mystery.

Monochrome Heights

Monochrome Heights is a fast-paced, tough-as-nails 2D platformer inspired by games like Super Mario Bros. and Mega Man. Using a unique color-swapping mechanic, help Happy the Robot run, jump, slide, and phase to reach the top of the tower and save the world.

Whiskerwood (EA Nov 6)

Establish a home for your industrious mice under the oppressive paw of your cat overlords in this city builder featuring complex simulations, intricate production chains, and the age-old rivalry between cat and mouse.

Fading Serenades

Hike, jump, and climb to traverse the treacherous terrain of the island to help villagers deliver parcels and complete their tasks and requests. Experience a story of vanishing traditions, a missing scientist, and an unfolding mystery. Serenading a quieter life, the island calls!
