Frosty Games Fest Showcase Spotlight

If Frosty Games is not on your radar, it’s time to fix that. The company describes themselves thusly: ” Frosty Games puts the spotlight on the coolest upcoming and recently released video games made in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand! Frosty exists to give a platform to more ANZ-based developers, and to connect players worldwide with the wide variety of incredible games made at the edge of the world.” The full Frosty Games Fest kept me on my toes with its variety, and, with difficulty, I’ve picked a few of my favorites to shine a light on.

Shape Sender Deluxe

Your new best friend Sendy is here to guide you through 90+ handcrafted physics puzzles. Solve them, then make your own levels, and maybe keep an eye on him while you’re at it.

BLIGHTEN

BLIGHTEN is a survival horror fps set in an abandoned facility overrun by mindless creatures infected by the Blight. Scavenge for resources and do whatever it takes to survive the industrial hellscape you’re isolated within.

The Troll & The Witch’s House

The Troll & The Witch’s House is a point-and-click adventure game set in a strange house filled with mysteries. Piece together fragments of the past, uncover secrets and find the key to your escape.

The Isle of Lost Bees

Welcome to the Isle of Lost Bees, a cozy idle game where you and your collection of Australian bees harvest pollen, research flowers, and uncover the island’s secrets. You’re a bee-obsessed researcher on an island devoid of humans. You never seemed to need human contact anyway.

Penguin Colony

Cosmic horror, through the eyes of a penguin. Rival human factions have come to your home in the Antarctic, seeking an ancient and inconceivable being. Observe their descent into insanity in this faithful re-imagining of H.P. Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness, and other stories.

Wild n Chill

Wild n Chill is a laid-back wilderness escape where ya forage, hunt, and craft the off-grid cabin of your dreams. Far from the noise and nonsense, it’s just you, your trusty companion, and a pal or two.
