6 Games To Watch From The Seattle Indies Expo

One of the best things about being an indie fan is that there is always more to discover. While I was over at PAX West this year (more on that soon!) I stole an opportunity to check out the Seattle Indies Expo. The show is a one-day deal, so if you miss it, you miss it. And I wasn’t planning on it. Walking in, I mused that its elbow-grease-filled setups and few-frills layout were, at its core, exactly the same thing as the bigger gaming event happening just blocks away: A room filled with treasures to find. Here are the gems I dug up.

Wanderling

Wanderling is a no-combat roguelike platformer about exploration. Die, retry, and mark your path deeper into a dungeon filled with traps and enemies. Besides enemies and traps, you’ll have to race against time. Plan your route and rush through the dungeon to make it out before time’s up! Each day, you’ll need to loot the dungeon and find your way back to the shop before night falls.

Creature Kitchen

Befriend your local wildlife and feed them their favorite snacks in this cozy atmospheric cooking simulator! With a strange house to search and forest to explore, the witching hour has only begun.

Super Choppy

Play as Choppy and master the platforming gameplay mechanics of using his axe to throw, fly, climb, and chop your way through a silly revenge-fueled adventure.

Cartomantic

Take control of fate in this Tarot roguelite deckbuilder. Wield powerful Aspects of humanity and divinity, weave explosive chain reactions, and collect hundreds of cards inspired by both Minor and Major Arcana as you journey across the higher planes in Cartomantic!

Tukoni: Forest Keepers

Autumn is a busy time in the forest, as animals wrap up their matters before taking a winter nap, and forest keepers Tukoni hustle to prepare pillows and blankets of various shapes and forms. As for the main character, he’s a Tukoni on a special mission.

Towerbolt

Towerbolt is a fast paced vertical platformer set in the year 239X. Race to the top of a cyberpunk Megatower while outrunning lethal security lasers on every floor!
