With the summer event season so close I can almost taste it, it’s going to be increasingly difficult to keep all the hot releases straight. And indies are just too good to let them pass by unappreciated — even if there are so many great games to play right now. Making sure you go into the onslaught unprepared is a job for The Indie Informer. So, here is a trio of titles you’ll want to get on your radar.

Hell Clock
I’ve fallen into hell on Earth: War. Based on blood-soaked history, I find myself looking down the barrel of a gun, trying to hold back the shuffling corpses all around me. Its dramatic woodblock print visuals, prominent skills, and horrific atmosphere put me in mind of Darkest Dungeon, while its looping gameplay and narrative seem more reminiscent of Hades. However, in this supernatural version of Brazil’s brutal conflict, the clock is always ticking. If the demons don’t kill you, time will step in to finish the job. This roguelike action RPG is set to release June 18.

Leftovers KO!
It is upsetting to think of indie fans missing out on this ridiculous gem of a game. A humorous ode to Punch-Out, the game begins like any good apocalyptic tale, with the unsuspecting masses. An unassuming worker leaves his office and heads home to rummage around in his fridge for an easy meal. However, the fermented fare has grown sentient — and hostile. Suddenly, I’m fighting for my life against a crazed, six-foot-tall hamburger with blood in its eyes. I can not stress to you how impeccably animated this game is; you simply have to see it for yourself. You won’t even have to wait because Leftovers KO is out right now.

Decade
Recently released, Decade is for you experimental sickos. It poses the question: If you could go back in time to fix your present and save those around you, how would you do it? The world is utterly decimated by toxic rains. The metallic sludge has destroyed most of humanity. It’s destroyed almost every place of shelter. Huddled in an underground bunker, you discover a time machine. Sending your fellow survivors back to change fate not only morphs reality, but the people themselves. Can you subject them to horrible tasks? Can you all survive without that sacrifice? Good luck finding out.
