Well, here we go again. Publisher Devolver Digital has announced a second showcase set to feature games in its lineup which have been delayed out of the year. Leaning into the spirit of the Awards Season, Devolver has also decided to name 2024’s event The 15th Annual Devolver Delayed Awards 2024.
“This year’s esteemed nominees is one of the most prestigious and anticipated groups we’ve seen in years,” explains the publisher, “and our panels of experts were surely put to the test to select just one winner. The stage is set, the release date calendar wiped clean – get ready for the main show.” You can watch the totally serious prize-filled show tomorrow — Wednesday, November 27 — at 10am PT.
Adding the annual tag to this year’s showcase points back to last year’s Devolver Delayed — and perhaps indicates more in the future. The stars of 2023 turned out to be The Plucky Squire, Stick It to the Stickman, Skate Story, Anger Foot, and Pepper Grinder. Of those, Skate Story and Stick It to the Stickman still lack release dates, which may mean they are taking the stage again this year.
There aren’t many other games from the publisher set to release this year, though Baby Steps is a notable standout. However, a variety of announced titles still have no release window, like Forestrike or Tenjutsu, and it would be interesting to see new looks at these.
