On The Radar: Bonaparte, Bloodless, And Kristala

PAX West looms. It’s nearly ready to cover all the land with a downpour of game news, previews, and reveals. I’ll be there myself trying out every indie they’ll let me get my hands on. But in this quiet hour before the storm, I want to highlight a few games you should have on your radar!

Bonaparte – A Mechanized Revolution

Vive la France. Studio Imugi unfurled its flagship title just weeks ago, with the plan to release it early next year. In this strategy-focused tour de force, players will step into the boots of either Céline or César Bonaparte in an alternate reality France. Oh and there are robots, bien sûr. Will you conduct your own reign of terror? Fight for the monarchy? Or try something totally different? Get it on your wishlist if you want to find out.

Bloodless

Tomoe returns to her village, but it’s not a happy homecoming. Bloody conflict threatens to swallow the world around her and it seems like the only way to makes things right is to fight. However, our ronin heroine has left bloodshed behind her, leaving players with an interesting combat conundrum. How to battle foes and one-time friends without killing them. The answer is an interesting blend or parrying and disarming techniques that you can perfect right now, as the game just released today.

Kristala

Kristala shares a few traits with the game above. In particular, you can go play it right now because it’s currently in Early Access. For those of you that didn’t catch its appearances in past Six One Indie Showcases, imagine a khajiit found its way into a Dark Souls world. I had a blast pouncing from rooftop to rooftop killing unsuspecting enemies and I’m intrigue to see where the story goes when we get a 1.0 release.
