Blindspot Games has announced it’s competitive tactical game, The Hexadome: Aristeia Showdown, will be entering its first in a series of beta events April 4-9. Along with the announcement of the beta, a first-look trailer at gameplay has been released and can be watched below.
While the beta for The Hexadome is a couple of weeks off, anyone interested in signing up for the chance to play can go to the game’s Steam page and find “Join the The Hexadome: Playtest” (not a typo. I don’t want to hear about it in the comments.). The beta coincides with TurnBasedThursdayFest, which celebrates and promotes all kinds of, you guessed it, turn-based games.
I’ll have a broader preview available on The Indie Informer soon from my time with it at PAX East, but tactical, strategy, MOBA, and/or competitive game enthusiasts should give The Hexadome a shot. Its initial hook of Overwatch meets XCOM was enough to get me into Blindspot’s booth, but the game’s champion variety and compelling complexity had me telling my friends about it for the entire show.

When speaking to Blindspot Games representatives, the studio’s goal is to perform frequent beta tests at a clip of about one per month until the game’s early access release later this year. It’s far from finished, and that’s what closed and (hopefully) public betas are for. The feedback from players will be used to shape The Hexadome: Aristeia Showdown in the coming months.
Look for my full PAX East impressions of The Hexadome soon, and make sure to check out the Herculean effort that is Jill’s GDC 2024 coverage, like this wonderful preview of Eldritch Empathy and much more.
